The Intelligent Autarkic Supply (IAS) has been developed as an add-on system to the MEGA-Line E-Shift or E-Clutch Actuator, to comply with the FIA safety requirement to allow an external disconnection of the drive train of a stranded car by the track marshals with car master switch OFF.
The IAS combines a sufficiently dimensioned battery with the functionalities required to boot designated MEGA-Line actuator and trigger the necessary actions to disconnect the drive train, without supply from the car main battery.
The integrated Li-Ion battery is constantly charged during normal drive mode to ensure sufficient battery capacity at any time.
Additionally, to the primary intention, the IAS also acts as a buffer battery for the connected MEGA-Line actuator to buffer eventual voltage drops of the car battery during normal operation, to ensure that the connected unit stays operational any time.
On top of this described supply circuit, the Intelligent Autarkic Supply also offers a second, independent supply circuit, which can be used to e.g. power the radio, or any other desired device when master switch is OFF.
To be able to scale the battery capacity and to easily react to higher supply demands, the IAS allows to connect an additional, external battery.
